Bosnia & Herzegovina 25,000 Dinara, 1993 Emergency Issue, P-54f, UNC/aUNC
This 25,000 Dinara Emergency Issue was produced during the severe inflation and wartime economic conditions of Bosnia & Herzegovina in 1993. The note was created by overprinting an existing 25 Dinara banknote with three additional zeros, rapidly increasing the denomination to meet the demands of a changing monetary environment. The issue is commonly cataloged as Pick P-54 and exists in several varieties distinguished by the color and style of the added zeros, as well as the city and date shown in the handstamp. Today, these emergency overprints are popular collectibles from the Bosnian War period and represent an interesting example of currency adaptation during a time of economic instability.
