Burma (Myanmar) 45 Kyats Banknote (Minor Foxing)
Issued by the Union of Burma Bank in 1987, this 45 Kyats banknote is one of Burma’s most unusual circulation issues. The note was introduced during the country’s socialist period and is well known for its unconventional denomination, which was part of a series of 45 and 90 Kyat notes issued that year. It features Thakin Po Hla Gyi, a leader of the Burmah Oil Company workers’ strike, on the obverse, while the reverse depicts oil workers, an oil field, and drilling rigs.
The 45 Kyats note circulated for only a short time before being demonetized, making it a distinctive collectible from modern Burmese numismatic history. Today it remains a popular addition to world currency collections because of its unusual denomination and historical significance.
Condition: Uncirculated (UNC). No folds, tears, or creases. Minor foxing. Stored flat in a protective currency sleeve.
