Jordan 1 Dinar 1996 Banknote
Issued by the Central Bank of Jordan, this 1 Dinar banknote is dated AH 1416 (1996) and belongs to Jordan’s fourth banknote issue under King Hussein. The P-29 series features King Hussein bin Talal on the obverse and the ancient Roman ruins of Jerash on the reverse. This particular P-29b variety carries the signatures of Marwan Awad, Minister of Finance, and Ziad Fariz, Governor of the Central Bank. The note was printed by De La Rue and features a portrait of King Hussein as its watermark. The green-toned design combines a royal portrait with one of Jordan’s best-known archaeological sites, making it an attractive example of modern Jordanian paper currency.
