The Romania 1 Leu banknote is one of Europe’s most recognizable low-denomination polymer notes. Printed on durable polymer substrate, this modern issue combines advanced security features with a colorful design honoring Romanian historian, writer, and statesman Nicolae Iorga (1871–1940).
The obverse features a portrait of Nicolae Iorga alongside a gentian flower, the Romanian coat of arms, and the National Bank of Romania seal. The reverse depicts the historic Curtea de Argeș Monastery, one of Romania’s most famous architectural landmarks. Series date 1 January 2018 with a 2023 serial prefix issue and is cataloged as P-117o.
Condition: Uncirculated. Crisp paper, sharp corners, no folds, no pinholes, and strong original color. Stored flat and protected.
