Issued during Sudan’s transition from the pound to the dinar in 1992, this note represents a key period of monetary reform and economic change. The design features the Republican Palace in Khartoum and architectural elements tied to Sudanese culture, including the Al Nileen Mosque seen in the watermark and reverse imagery.
