Burma (Myanmar) 35 Kyats Banknote
Issued by the Union of Burma Bank in 1986, the 35 Kyats banknote is another of Burma’s distinctive odd-denomination issues from the socialist era. The obverse features Major General Aung San, the father of Burmese independence, alongside the traditional Hinthar (Brahminy duck) emblem. The reverse depicts an intricate wood carving of a Burmese Nat angel from the historic Shwe In Bin Monastery in Mandalay.
Like the 15, 45, 75, and 90 Kyats notes, the 35 Kyats denomination was introduced during a unique period in Burma’s monetary history. The note was demonetized on September 5, 1987, making it a popular collectible among world banknote enthusiasts today.
Condition: Uncirculated (UNC). No folds, tears, or creases. Stored flat in a protective currency sleeve.
